Juneteenth

This upcoming Sunday also marks Juneteenth. We would like to highlight a few different ways to celebrate Black history this weekend.

  • The Kennedy Center is hosting a fantastic program this week, with dynamic performances by the Dance Theatre of Harlem, the Ballethnic Dance Company and Collage Dance Collective. If you are interested, you can purchase tickets here.

  • Something in the Water Festival is this weekend, and it is aimed at celebrating Black art, culture, and music. From local musicians to Grammy-winning stars, this is sure to be an incredible experience. Click here to purchase passes.

  • From June 18-20, the National Archives will display the original Emancipation Proclamation and General Order No. 3. The Archives will be open from 10:00am - 7:00pm, and admission is free.
