Helloooo out there!

Greetings from Team MAA!

We closed down our office on March 13th and, like many of you, have been teleworking since then.

We’re not sure about you, but we always appreciate a good pick-me-up and would love to find ways to stay connected with you while we figure out how we continue providing great fundraising support and services to our clients.

What we love most about this work is working with fun, funny, smart, witty friends in our unique bubble in politics. So all of us at MAA wanted to wish you well and hope you are holding up and maintaining a positive vibe during these trying times.

We’re going to start sending out some snippets to entertain and stay connected. We hope you enjoy and send us your thoughts back when you have a moment!

BABY NEWS!

Did you know Jaime is pregnant and due any day now? We were able to toast Jaime and Mark’s new addition with some margs and tacos at Santa Rosa in February. In true team camaraderie, we’ve also placed bets on Baby Boy #2’s arrival date and time. Stay tuned for more news this week!

MENTAL HEALTH

There are soooo many articles right now but this one is from an artist in New Orleans that Molly follows on Instagram about ways for creative types to manage anxiety. Follow her for some beautiful artwork and lessons if you’re so inclined!

Jacob’s highly anticipated trip to Disney World is now on hold. Since he couldn’t follow through on making it to the parks this April, he bought a few Disney-inspired candles from Magic Candle Company. According to their website, “The Magic Candle Company brings the smell of a magical vacation right to your front door”. Jacob is very excited for his “Pirate Life”, “Bakery”, and “Pineapple Whip” candles to come in the mail. They also have bath bombs and other bath products!

KIDSSS……

For those of us with children, congratulations for making it through Week One! There is so much advice going around on social media, but our favorites include these online kid-friendly workouts with this guy. He streams daily from the U.K. but has a ton of kid workouts in his library. We don’t mind the accent either.

Adding something new and weird to your feed can’t hurt and this one entertains both adults and kids - The Tiny Chef Show.

Feel yourself going crazy already? Check this out and put Kindness 101 on your calendar for your kids at 2pm EST daily.

P.S. With all this free time at home there has never been a better time to give a furr-ever home to a dog or a cat currently at the shelter! Use these resources to figure out the best way to adopt or foster a fur baby in the DMV:

On that note, here’s Haley’s new pup Shorts! Shorts was rescued from a shelter in Hawaii and came to DC on Saturday. Say Aloha, Shorts!

Please leave your comments below to say hi and share your tips on life and work in the wild! Until next time, best wishes to you and your families!
