Molly Allen, Founding Principal, has over eight years of experience in the political arena helping elect Democrats. She has worked for several local, state and federal campaigns, non-profit organizations and institutions including Senator Richard Durbin (IL), Congressman Bobby Rush (IL-01), Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez (NY-12), Linda Stender for Congress (NJ-07), Marty Castro for Congress (IL-04), Martha Fuller Clark for Congress (NH-01) and Lou Lang for Governor (IL). In 2002, Molly served as Finance Director for Jill Long Thompson’s Congressional race in Indiana’s 2nd District, a nationally-targeted campaign. Molly is a graduate of Northwestern University.
Todd Brooks, Associate, is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications. Prior to joining Molly Allen Associates, Todd was the Deputy Finance Director on the Jon Powers for Congress campaign in New York’s 26th Congressional District during the 2008 cycle. Todd was also the Finance Director on the Joe Mesi for New York State Senate campaign in October and November of 2008.
Jaime Gershberg, Fundraising Coordinator, is a graduate of the University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Prior to joining Molly Allen Associates in June of 2009, Jaime interned at the Consumer Electronics Association where she contributed to the marketing department.
Emily Gray, Associate, is a graduate of Salem College where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Not-for-Profit Management and Sociology. Prior to joining the team at Molly Allen Associates in March 2008, Emily interned with National League of Cities in Washington, D.C., on the Stimulating Municipal Action to Reduce Poverty Project.
Emily Liner, Associate, graduated from Georgetown University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and minors in History and French. She has been an intern for U.S. Rep. Gene Taylor (MS-04), the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and Womens Campaign Forum. In 2004, she was the youngest delegate from her state to be elected to attend the Democratic National Convention in Boston. She joined Molly Allen Associates in July 2008.
Liz Robertson, Associate, is a graduate of Louisiana State University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She previously interned for the Louisiana Department of Insurance in Public Affairs as well as with the Texas Public Utility Commission. In 2008, Liz was Deputy Finance Director on the Don Cazayoux for Congress campaign in LA-06. In November of 2008, she was Call Time Manager for the Paul Carmouche for Congress campaign in LA-04.
Launched in January 2006, Molly Allen Associates specializes in mobilizing financial resources for Democratic candidates and provides a full range of campaign fundraising and financial management services. We maintain a small client roster in order to give each campaign the best service possible. Our convenient location only steps from the Capitol makes our office a natural satellite campaign office for our clients, which they use for call time, political meetings and events in our conference room. Molly Allen Associates is seeking college students and recent college graduates for part-time or full-time campaign fundraising internships. Responsibilities will include assisting with research, event planning, database management, and administrative tasks. The internship will also include the potential to staff and/or attend DC-area fundraising events. Interns will have the opportunity to interact with Members of Congress. Candidates must be self-starters, detail-oriented, have excellent writing and communication skills, and be able to multi-task. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Hill or campaign experience is a plus.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. A minimum commitment of six hours per week is required. We are committed to providing our interns with a valuable learning experience and will assist with petitions for academic credit as well as adjust the duration of an internship session to comply with respective academic calendars.
Candidates able to commit 20 hours or more per week will be eligible for a stipend. Compensation cannot be combined with academic credit.
