Molly Allen, Founding Principal, has over ten years of experience in the political arena helping elect Democrats. She has worked for several local, state and federal campaigns, non-profit organizations and institutions including Congressman Dan Boren (OK-02), Congressman Bobby Bright (AL-02), Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (AZ-08), Congresswoman Suzanne Kosmas (FL-24), Congressman Mike Ross (AR-04), Congressman Bobby Rush (IL-01), Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez (NY-12), Linda Stender for Congress (NJ-07), Marty Castro for Congress (IL-04), Martha Fuller Clark for Congress (NH-01), Senator Richard Durbin (IL) and Lou Lang for Governor (IL). In 2002, Molly served as Finance Director for Jill Long Thompson’s Congressional race in Indiana’s 2nd District, a nationally-targeted campaign. Molly is a graduate of Northwestern University and resides in Silver Spring, MD with her husband and son.

Todd Brooks, Associate, is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications. Prior to joining Molly Allen Associates in 2009, Todd was the Deputy Finance Director on the Jon Powers for Congress campaign in New York’s 26th Congressional District during the 2008 cycle. Todd was also the Finance Director on the Joe Mesi for New York State Senate campaign in October and November of 2008.

Jaime Gershberg, Events Coordinator & Associate, is a graduate of the University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Prior to joining Molly Allen Associates in June of 2009, Jaime interned at the Consumer Electronics Association where she contributed to the marketing department.

Emily Liner, Senior Associate, graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and minors in History and French. She has been an intern for U.S. Rep. Gene Taylor (MS-04), the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and Women’s Campaign Forum. In 2004, she was the youngest delegate from her state to be elected to attend the Democratic National Convention in Boston. She joined Molly Allen Associates in July 2008.

Matt Thackston, Associate, is a 2008 graduate of the State University of New York College at Geneseo where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Prior to joining Molly Allen Associates in 2011, Matt was the Deputy Finance Director on Congressman Boccieri’s re-election campaign in Ohio’s 16th Congressional District during the 2010 cycle. Previously, Matt served as the Volunteer Coordinator for John Boccieri for Congress in the 2008 cycle.

We maintain a small client roster in order to give each campaign the best service possible. Our convenient location only steps from the Capitol makes our office a natural satellite campaign office for our clients, which they use for call time, political meetings and events in our conference room. Fundraising Assistant

Molly Allen Associates, a Democratic consulting firm in Washington, D.C., specializing in Congressional incumbent and candidate fundraising, is seeking a recent college graduate for an entry-level fundraising assistant position.

Summary

The fundraising assistant will play an important role by providing support to the principal and the entire office. As this person will participate in our fundraising activities, we are looking for someone who will excel at interacting with our clients, maintaining our close relationships with donors and presenting a professional and composed demeanor at fundraising events and in our office.

The ideal candidate will be extremely detail-oriented and possess the ability to prioritize and multi-task. This person should also be a self-starter who can take direction well, asks questions and will apply our methods in order to eventually generate his or her own daily tasks and long-term projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain PAC and individual donor files in office database (NGP), including updating contact information, entering client call notes and coding records
• Process pledges and contributions
• Prepare acknowledgment letters along with any other correspondence
• Create fundraising reports in NGP and other database reports as needed
• Conduct research on prospective PAC and individual donors
• Maintain guest lists, coordinate event logistics, work with event hosts and other duties as assigned for fundraising events
• Make fundraising calls to prospects and donors and maintain relationships with donors via phone and email
• Generate client call sheets, maintain a call book for the principal and staff call time with principal
• Design invitations for fundraising events
• Create nametags using mail merge in Microsoft Word
• Monitor critical office supplies and process orders
• Assist with catering and vendor orders and contracts
• Answer and field incoming calls
• Run errands for clients and office

Requirements

• Entry-level position; 6-12 months political fundraising experience ideal
• Bachelor’s degree
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required; experience with NGP Software preferred
• Ability to communicate information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to organize and prioritize work
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Excellent attention to detail
• Outstanding interpersonal skills
• A commitment through the 2012 election cycle is required.
